Singapore – May 27, 2010: We are extremely excited to announce that on May 14, 2010 Benchmark Broadcast Systems was acquired by NASDAQ listed KIT digital, Inc
KIT digital (www.kitd.com, NASDAQ: KITD) is a leading, global provider of on‐demand
Internet Protocol (IP)‐based video asset management systems.
Through its end‐to‐end software platform, KIT digital enables enterprise clients to
acquire, manage and distribute video assets across the three screens of the computer
internet browser, mobile device and IPTV‐enabled television. KIT digital's client base
includes over 1,000 enterprise customers across 30+ countries, including The Associated Press, Bristol‐Myers Squibb, Disney‐ABC, Google, Hewlett‐Packard, IMG Worldwide, Intel, News Corp, RCS, Sensis, Telefónica, Verizon and Vodafone. KIT digital is headquartered in Prague, the Czech Republic with principal offices in Atlanta, Cairo, Cologne, Dubai, Melbourne (Australia), New York, Toronto and London.
This merger makes a lot of sense for both of us. KIT digital will expand and strengthen
its global IPTV capabilities throughout Asia with Benchmark’s proven expertise in
traditional broadcast consultancy and integration, while Benchmark gets a global
footprint and world class, leading IP technology for its customers.
Ashish Mukherjee, President, Benchmark Broadcast Systems, commented: "We have been experiencing, first‐hand, the shift in Asia from traditional video systems to IP‐based technologies. We are excited to be joining the global leader in IP video management and we believe our collective strength will yield exceptional value and benefits for our combined customer base. Given Benchmark management's two decades of expanding relationships with content owners and network operators across the region, we think the sales synergies between our companies are powerful."
"We are also looking forward to collaborating on software development for both IP‐ and ASI‐based video technologies," added Mukherjee, "combining our companies' respective strengths in video and broadcast technologies, and bridging the gap between traditional broadcast and new media for customers in emerging markets. As a combined force, we believe we now offer a global capability in capturing, processing and delivering IP‐video that is second to none."
Mr Raghu Rajagopalan added, "For our clients, suppliers and partners we hope to present a seamless transition. We will continue to operate as we have in the past. Our people, processes and offices will all continue to function as they did previously. The changes will be gradual and will not cause any disruption in our existing day‐to‐day functioning. We hope that our valued clients, partners, suppliers will continue to support us as they have in the past several years".
